DNS setup for local access

Based on our class exercise during the last ngNOG meeting on internet services, I tried to setup dns on ubuntu platform; using bind9 I could resolve outside domain from the server terminal but still some issues:-

1. I could not dig up (A or MX) record from the zone record defined under /etc/bind/zones/ directory

2. secondly; I want registered email users to accessed email through intranet url not via ip address, I'm still finding this difficult to achieve; what should do?

Thank you in anticipation of your inputs.

AVU Satellite Frequency Changing Problem

Recently there was an instruction circulated to all AVU partnership institutions to change their receiver frequency to a new value due to a change in transponder servicing the AVU. This I did. But for some reasons that I cant figure out, the figure keeps reverting to its old value anytime there is power outage. This i was able to confirm also happened in UniJos. In view of this I am soliciting for whoevre has encountered and solved this problem to please provide us with the solution.
