ngNOG 2010 Announcement of Host

The The Nigeria ICT Forum of Partnership Institutions wishes to announce University of Port Harcourt as the host institution of the fifth edition of ngNOG 2010.

The University of Port Harcourt was established by the Federal Military Government in 1975 as a University College, located in Port Harcourt the capital city of Rivers State, Nigeria. It assumed the status of a full pledged University shortly after its establishment.

The multi-campus University which is located in Port Harcourt lies along the Bonny River and in the Niger Delta. The population of Port Harcourt is estimated at 1,620,214 (2007), the Port Harcourt Urban area is 2.7 million while the Greater Port Harcourt Area is almost 5.7 million in population.

The Nigerian Network Operators' Group (ngNOG) is a forum for cooperation and the exchange of technical information between operators of Internet-connected networks in Nigeria.
